Utah BMW Oil Change
Your BMW’s oil changes are the foundation that keeps your car running well.
Regular oil changes will ensure the high performance you expect from your vehicle. But they will also extend the life of your car and minimize the need for repair. You can’t trust just anyone to do this important maintenance work, however. To ensure that your BMW’s oil changes are done correctly, trust your local, independent BMW shop.
In Salt Lake City, the factory-trained experts at Wasatch Motor Werks are committed to providing exceptional service and value to all our customers.
Be Diligent About Your BMW’s Oil Changes
BMWs and other high-performance European automobiles provide a comprehensive alert system to remind you of needed maintenance.
However, the manufacturer’s recommended interval for oil changes (15,000 miles for some models) is not a “one size fits all” standard. Depending on where you live and how you drive your car, you probably need this service performed more frequently.
If you drive your vehicle in extreme weather conditions, or if you live in an area with road construction, dirt or dust, you may require more frequent oil changes. This is also the case if you frequently drive your car short distances.
Failure to follow the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance intervals can void your warranty. Once your warranty expires, you’ll have even more motivation to keep up with your regular oil changes.
Have Your BMW Oil Checked Regularly
Although you can rely on your BMW’s oil change warning indicator to remind you to schedule service, your vehicle will be better served if you keep a close eye on your car.
Once your oil starts to look dirty — or worse, the oil indicator light comes on — you may already have done damage to your engine. Under optimal conditions, you may be able to go 6,000 to 7,500 miles between oil changes if you’re using a high-grade synthetic oil and a good filter.
Your car also has an advanced monitoring system that will alert you if it senses any degradation of the oil. But that doesn’t let you off the hook for monitoring your oil’s level, pressure and color.
If you aren’t thrilled about checking your own oil, or if you don’t know how to use your car’s mileage and maintenance indicator system, visit your local European auto mechanic and have a technician give your vehicle a quick check.
Trust a Local BMW Repair Shop for Oil Changes
You can visit the dealership to have your BMW’s oil changed, but unless you have a maintenance plan, expect to pay more than you otherwise would at a local auto shop.
It’s not advisable to take your high-performance vehicle to a quick-lube shop that doesn’t specialize in European automobiles. Unless the technicians are trained and certified to work on BMWs, you risk potential damage to your car.
The easiest and most cost-effective approach is to visit your locally owned BMW mechanic.
